Taipei ︱Tung Oil Flowers in Chengtian Chan Temple


(Apr-May) The area around Chengtian Chan Temple(承天禪寺) is the famous attraction of tung oil flowers(油桐花) in the northern Taiwan. The temple is located in Tucheng, New Taipei City(新北市土城).

.Take the BL line of the Taipei MRT to Yongning Station(永寧捷運站).

Chengtian Chan Temple is built in 1995 by Master Guanxing. The temple is located on the mountain range. You can see the bird view of New Taipei City from the temple.

The Tung Flower Park is near the temple.  It's famous with tung oil flowers and fireflies. There are several tracks you can go hiking.

Vernicia fordii, usually known as the tung tree, tung-oil tree or China-oil-wood tree.
