Hsinchu︱Sun Persimmon in Xinpu


(Sep-Jan) Dried persimmons are the traditional food of Hakka people and the 90% of sun persimmons of Taiwan are from Hsinchu. Hsinchu is well known as the "Windy City". The weather is suitable for dried fruit, especially in autumn.

The Wei Wei Jia is the most famous persimmon tourist farm. You can visit how they make the sun persimmons by the traditional way. They also sell many local specialty food.

If you come here by driving, don't worry, they have many parking spaces for free.

After the persimmons were washed and peeled, the workers put them into the oven whose temperature is about 45 to 50 degree, then sun the persimmons on the yard at least 7 days.

A kitten also sun on the yard. XD

The workers are showing the traditional way to process the sun persimmons.

It's also a popular photogenic place of Taiwan in autumn season.
